Community Involvement

Community Involvement

As a family-owned local business for over almost 30 years, River Valley Veterinary Service is proud to be actively involved in a number of local groups and give back to our community. We love being a part of this community where we live and work, and want our clients to know how important community involvement is to our team!

First Grade Tours

Each fall we organize tours of our state of the art facilities for local 1st-grade groups. They are able to take a behind the scenes tour, interact with different animals and learn what it means to be a veterinarian. This has been a passion of Dr. Cindy Sellin’s since 1990 and continues on today

Photos with Santa

Each year we host pictures with Santa! This is a great opportunity to bring your fur children down to get their picture taken. Make it extra special and bring your family along to join in the fun!

The Toy Corner

During the holiday season we help support The Toy Corner, a local non-profit that provides free toys to children in Prior Lake, Savage, and Shakopee. Stop by the clinic and drop off your gently used or new toys in the super cute “Little Red Wagon” that we will have set up. They will also gladly accept cash donations.

Prior Lake Fireworks Contributor

We have been a contributor to the Prior Lakes Fireworks each year. It’s important to ensure your celebrations are safe for everyone, including your pets. Remember pets and fireworks don’t always mix, and more pets end up in the shelter on July 5th than any other day of the year. Keep your pet in a secure room with soft music and his or her favorite treats and toys to distract from the holiday noise.
