Leptospirosis

Pet owners within the surrounding Twin Cities area have been exposed to the word ‘Lepto.’ Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that can cause illness in dogs but also horses.  The disease is transmitted from an infected animal, typically wildlife, shedding the bacteria in urine and exposing the bacterium in pasture wetlands. USEF Rule Change Hey all horse owners! We just wanted to let you know about a new rule change the USEF has made to further combat Equine Herpes Virus and Equine Influenza outbreaks.  The USEF is now requiring a current vaccination status against Equine Herpes Virus and Equine Influenza within 6 months.  Starting December 1st, 2015, this rule will be implemented for all licensed competitions.
