River Valley Veterinary Service was established in 1983 by Dr. Cynthia Sellin and Dr. Bruce Viren. The beginning years were dedicated to an equine ambulatory service focusing on client education and the maintenance of healthy horses. In 1989 the decision was made to build a clinic in Prior Lake and offer a combined small animal and equine practice. Since June of 1990, River Valley Veterinary Service has been a full-service care facility for small animals, while maintaining our long-standing equine ambulatory service . In January of 2003, Dr. Laurie Miller became a partner in our practice. From our clinic's beginning,  River Valley Veterinary has continually endeavored to set the standard of superior veterinary care in the Prior Lake, MN area. In addition, we offer obedience classes, grooming and pet supplies.

In 2012 we opened our state-of-the-art grooming, boarding and daycare facility, River Valley Groom and Board. This amazing facility features luxury suites for dogs with a window, beautiful tile and comfy beds. Stay & Play packages include play time outside of the suite. Rest & Rejuvenate packages include one on one time in our lovely pet living room with a Pet Care attendant, lots of loving attention! Cats stay in our "jungle" the Mew with a View. Beautiful kitty condos, play time on the Sycamore tree complete with bird watching out the window.
